Your customers are your best advertisement

The best advertisement for you and your services are your existing happy customers. Don't underestimate the power of a recommendation or review but don't neglect to remind your customers to take that step.


Ask and you will receive...

Ask your customers to leave a review and point out that it would really help you. Don't be ashamed to say "Can I ask a favor... Can you leave me a review or two?". Make sure you tell them where you'd like them to leave reviews - e.g. Google, Trustpilot etc.


Refer a friend

Taking this another step further - you can incentivise your customers to tell their friends by offering a discount for them and their referrals next time either of them use your services. Again, this is totally free advertising as you only give a discount if you get a sale/order!


Not only is it great that you only spend something when you get a new customer, but a refer-a-friend recommendation is far more likely to convert into a new customer in the first place.


Don't underestimate the power of the "refer a friend" idea. Take action, print up some cards to leave with your customers advising them they and their friends can get a discount on the next purchase, you could even include a unique referral code to help keep track of any orders. Or, if you are a "single time only" service, how about offering a cash payment or free gift if one of your customers referrals uses your services because of their recommendation?
